Hello! This is my very first post on the Lyrical Blog and I’m very happy to share an interview with my hero and heroine from my Georgian romance Only Scandal Will Do.
Duncan and Kat have quite a history and have graciously agreed to answer some rather difficult questions to unofficially kick off the Enjoy The Scandal Blog Tour that begins October 1.
Jenna: Let me go ahead and jump in with both feet. Duncan and Katarina, please tell everyone how you two met.
Katarina: * shoots an innocent glance at Duncan* I think you should answer this one, Duncan.
Jenna: Indeed! And was she. . . a denizen of that establishment?
Katarina: I tried to tell him that but he doesn’t always listen well.
Jenna: Not a meeting to tell your grandchildren about, certainly. So, what are your greatest strengths? Greatest weaknesses? How have they shaped your lives?
Duncan: I think my greatest strength is my love for my family. I will sacrifice almost anything to keep them safe and happy. My weakness has been my arrogance. *sidewise look at Katarina* That’s being beaten out of me slowly but surely. With a silken glove. And both these qualities have brought me my greatest joy–my wife.
Katarina: I too love my family, but I believe my greatest strength is courage. It has allowed me to persevere through great adversity many times. My weakness is most likely my stubbornness. *smiles at Duncan* I dislike to lose. I suppose stubbornness and courage can be a deadly combination–as I found out to my grief just recently.
Jenna: What first drew you to Katarina? What qualities does she possess that are attractive to you?
Duncan: Well, the very first thing to catch my attention was her gorgeous hair. I have a…fondness…for copper colored hair. And I love her for her stubbornness and her courage. Even though they both drive me crazy.
Jenna: Which was my next question. But Katarina, what first drew you to Duncan?
Katarina: Absolutely nothing. I loathed him on sight.
Jenna: I see. *pause* Did he have any attractive qualities at all?
Katraina: He does fence quite well. *grins at Duncan*
Jenna: Duncan, if you could be anything other than a marquess, what would you do and why?
Duncan: That is easy. I would be a ship’s captain. I love the freedom of the ocean, the feeling of power over the waves. I’d be most content to live at sea.
Katarina: No, you wouldn’t, because you would never see me again.
Duncan: Which makes it fortunate that I am content with my current station in life. *grins at Kat*
Jenna: In your story, what was the most memorable moment for you?
Jenna: *smiling* And Katarina?
Katarina: *gazing back at Duncan * He almost shot the captain to stop the ship for me.
Jenna: My word! *looks at Duncan and shrinks back in her chair* Um. . . What is your idea of a romantic evening?
Duncan: A delicious dinner, followed by wine, and retire early.
Jenna: I suppose I hardly need to ask what you two do for fun?
Duncan and Katarina: (in unison) Fence!
Jenna: *shakes her head* Would you like for me to create a sequel for you?
Duncan: Not a sequel. I’m quite satisfied with how things turned out at the end, except. . . there is the question of Juliet. What do you intend to do about my sister?
Jenna: Well, my editor and I are working on Juliet’s story right now. So, hopefully, Only Marriage Will Do will be coming along to take up that tale.
Duncan: It can’t be too soon for me.
Katarina: Duncan. *shakes her head* Jenna, thank you so much for having us here today.
Jenna: Thank you both for coming here today. I’ll know I’ll be seeing you two again soon.
